Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are a great product. You can recharge them approximately 1000 times without losing capacity, and they work very well.
Right now Amazon has 4 Sony AA NiMH batteries on sale for $8.98. That is a little over $2 per battery, but when you think that 1 NiMH battery replaces literally hundreds of non-rechargeable batteries.
Having a good stock of these will save you a lot of money. Especially Wii owners!
