The Refuge of Humor

I want to encourage you all to find some moments of sanity in humor. That's what Jill would want us to be doing.

Sunday night [Beijing time] was a restless one as you can imagine. Every time I woke up, I couldn't allow myself to go back to sleep until I could think of a fresh memory of Jill. One time I started laughing so loud it woke TJ up. I remembered the time I stayed with them in Conway overnight...which I did a lot...but one this one day, Jill was working 7-7 and Adam had stayed with them the night before. Well, Jill hadn't had time to wash the sheets on the guest bed, so before I got to their house, she had made Scott go to Wal-Mart and buy a new set of sheets just so I wouldn't have to sleep on ones that were "dirty" from Adam. Haha!!! Hope that makes somebody smile...

As having been one who has lived with Adam, it makes me smile.

Jill was full of hospitality, and would never allow a lady to sleep on sheets slept on by Adam. Even a below average hostess probably wouldn't allow that.

Why is it that even a smile, causes the eyes to water?

Here is the funny thing. I stayed with Scott and Jill every Thursday for a couple of years as I went to Seminary. The guest bed always looked so perfect that I never wanted to mess it up because I knew I would never get it back so nice. I would take a blanket out of the closet and sleep on top of the covers.
